Morpheus8: Making Microneedling Even Better with Radiofrequency Energy

Morpheus8: Making Microneedling Even Better with Radiofrequency Energy

Microneedling is a staple in the aesthetics industry. A provider uses a handheld roller with tiny, sterile needles that create micropunctures in the skin; your body responds by filling in the holes with new, strong tissue, which erases the fine lines and wrinkles that have developed.

Morpheus8 improves upon microneedling by sending radiofrequency (RF) energy into the punctures, further encouraging your body’s response.

At Primary Care Walk-In Medical Clinic in Gilbert, Fountain Hills, Mesa, and Scottsdale, Arizona, our providers, Dr. Pankaj Chopra and Dr. Neha Maheshwari, along with the rest of our team, use the Morpheus8 platform to tighten and tone the skin. If you’re looking to rejuvenate your face, here’s why Morpheus8 is the perfect choice.

But first, a word about your skin

Collagen is a structural protein found in your bones, tendons, muscles, skin, and blood vessels, among other places. The name comes from the Greek word “kolla,” meaning glue. That makes it the “glue” that holds your body together.

When you’re young, your body produces large quantities of collagen and the related protein elastin, but at around 25 years, production starts to decline. It can also decline due to smoking, eating too much sugar, or exposure to the sun’s UV rays. This leads to wrinkles and sagging skin.

There’s no way to prevent the decline in production, but there are ways to reverse it, and that’s where microneedling and Morpheus8 come into play.

More about microneedling and Morpheus8

Microneedling deliberately creates wounds in your skin to trigger your body’s healing response. One way it responds is by producing more collagen and elastin, which fill in those wounds and soften the fine lines and wrinkles that led you to treatment.

But microneedling alone can only do so much. Morpheus8, an FDA-cleared fractional radiofrequency device, channels RF energy into the skin, creating more damage than the needles alone and stimulating even higher rates of collagen and elastin production to refresh tired-looking skin.

The Morpheus8 treatment procedure

Your RF microneedling procedure takes place in our office. Here’s what you can expect during the treatment:

We clean your skin with alcohol to prevent infection, then we either apply a topical anesthetic or inject a local anesthetic so you won’t feel any discomfort.

We move the microneedling device over your skin, and as the tip of each needle punctures the skin, it also releases RF waves into the wound.

The procedure only takes 10-20 minutes, the exact time depending upon which area(s) you’re treating.

Finally, we apply a growth solution to help with cell regeneration and a soothing solution to minimize any lasting discomfort.

There’s no downtime following the procedure, so you’re free to go back to your daily routine.

Most patients need about three treatments to achieve their aesthetic objectives, and you’ll see results develop over a few months.

If you’re bothered by the visible signs of aging, Primary Care Walk-In Medical Clinic can help. Walk in, call us at any of our locations, or book an appointment online.
